Other vacation activities

Mauritius offers you the opportunity to enjoy your favourite water sports in the warm crystal clear waters surrounding the island. Mauritius is an ideal location for windsurfing, sailing, deep sea fishing and scuba diving thanks to the sheltered lagoons, calm waters and the prevailing winds blowing all year round.

The lagoons also offer a fantastic environment for water ski action. The thrill seekers can glide high above the waters and admire the view from above on a parasailing excursion. For the less adventurous, there are always the pedalos where you can float tranquilly above the waters and coral gardens, admiring the breathtaking natural beauty at leisure.

Mauritius is one of the best spots in the world for deep-sea fishing. Blue and black marlins, sharks, sail fish, bonitos and tunas thrive in the tropical water around the island.

The coastal resorts in Mauritius offer guests nearly all water sport facilities. Some are provided free of charge as part of basic hotel facilities but some are available at extra cost.

There are also numerous private clubs located around the main beach resorts, which provide water sports facilities.
